The Mater Mothers' Hospitals have a proud tradition of story telling through the photo storyboards parents have created and given to the hospital to display over the last 30 years. The PlaceStories project brings this tradition into the 21st Century. More than 9000 children are born every year at Brisbane’s Mater Mothers' Hospitals. Around 1000 of these require specialist neonatal care. Mater Newborn PlaceStories celebrates these remarkable new lives. A touchscreen system in the parent's lounge of the new Neonatal Critical Care Unit displays the growing collection of stories to new Mater Mothers' Hospitals' patients and visitors.
